The Art of Search & Research in Post Google Era.

In today's fast-paced digital age, research is more accessible — and more exciting — than ever. Gone are the days of sifting through encyclopedias or microfiche. But the explosion of information sources has created a new problem: knowing where to look, and whether to trust what you find.

Google was the great equalizer. Everyone got the same ten blue links. The person who could parse those results quickly had a real advantage.

Now the field has splintered. There's Perplexity for quick factual lookups. ChatGPT and Claude for synthesis. Reddit for "what do actual people think." YouTube for "show me how." Twitter/X for what's happening right now. And still Google — now layered with SGE summaries that may or may not be accurate.

The skill isn't "how to Google." The skill is knowing which tool fits which question, and when to triangulate across multiple sources before trusting an answer.

Research in the post-Google era is more powerful than ever. But it requires a more deliberate approach than typing a query and clicking the first result.
